Project Phase

Completed (2017)

Situated on Bali’s most vibrant beachfront, this world-class hotel is an InterContinental Hotels Group property that began as a renovation and a hotel extension. In association with A49 Thailand, we merged the idea of old and new, blurring the distinction between tradition and modernity, resulting in an eclectic piece of architecture. Local stories that reflect the neighborhood’s evocative culture were infused into every corner. For instance, the striking geometric patterns, inspired by the Balinese songket weavings, were carved in the wood, making distinctive traditional accents throughout the property and decorating the beautifully crafted living spaces.

By construction, we must optimize the useable space and enhance the visual perception of the hotel. A more secluded site area is reserved for private villas, a perfect retreat from the chaotic lifestyle. The other 289 rooms, suites, and pool villas are beautifully-crafted and inspired by the colorful lives of the locals while fitted with Hotel Indigo’s signature spa-inspired bathrooms, plush bedding, and a balcony or patio with daybeds. All in all, this hotel is an excellent example of where one harmoniously weaves the vibrant flavors of Bali’s most stylish beachside neighborhood of Seminyak into every detail of its eclectic designs and inspired services.
